Building and scaling premium consumer brands
For 12 years I helped grow Frog Bikes from a start-up into an award-winning international premium brand, reaching around £15 million in revenue within six years. As Head of Marketing and a member of the senior leadership board, I helped shape the business strategy and led the global marketing function across D2C, retail and distributor channels.
That meant turning technical product benefits into simple, emotionally resonant propositions for parents, leading international product launches and licensed collaborations, and building an ecommerce and CRM operation that delivered 68% year-on-year D2C growth.
Before Frog Bikes, I led marketing across B2B and B2C businesses in technology, consumer electronics and research, including global marketing for a marketing automation SaaS provider whose clients included Coca-Cola, SAP, Cisco and New Balance, and earlier roles with Sony, IBM and Bosch.

Highlights
- +28% website conversion and +79% customer opt-ins through ecommerce and CRM
- 24% lower customer acquisition cost through paid media optimisation
- +51% web traffic and +467% social engagement through integrated campaigns

My approach
Commercially focused
Connecting brand, customer acquisition and retention to your commercial goals, rather than managing isolated activities.
Team first
Team leadership and mentoring are central to my approach. I work alongside your existing agency and in-house team rather than replace them.
Measured progress
We agree meaningful measures at the outset and review progress rather than promise a fixed result by a fixed date.
Who I work with
My focus is ambitious consumer, sport, wellness and lifestyle brands, particularly those balancing brand building with ecommerce, retail and customer retention.

I worked for 3 years with Val in my role as a NED at Frog Bikes. She is a thoughtful, strategic marketer with a can-do and calm approach. With limited budget she continued to build the Frog brand in the UK, organically growing the DTC channel to 15% of sales within a year, and engaging and building the Frog brand community across international markets.
As a start-up business, fractional support is exactly what we needed. Val offers the perfect balance of strategic thinking, providing clarity around business objectives, and creativity, to develop a detailed marketing plan ready for execution.
Val is a focused marketer with an objective-based approach to business. Val approaches her business with great enthusiasm, professionalism and detail and delivers measurable benefits to our organisation. An excellent team player with a fun personality.
